We now provide same day sit & wait session on Mondays, to Fridays between 8am and 10.00am. No appointment is needed. We prioritise children under 6 years of age and anyone with an condition which requires urgent attention (please advise the reception staff when you book in)
Appointments can be booked in person, by using our on-line booking service or by telephoning the surgery.
You can book face to face consultations or request a telephone appointment if appropriate
If we are unable to offer you an appointment, we will endeavour to provide an assessment of your symptoms by our Duty GP to ensure you are given an appropriate appointment or advice.
Network Development Framework
From April 2014 NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group has invested additional resources into General Practices to improve capacity. The improvements are to enable practices to provide additional services to patients in an effort to reduce inappropriate attendances at A&E.
We have utilsed the investment by providing an extra 2 GP sessions per week and an additional session with one of our Health Care Assistants.
We also have a facility which allows you to book and cancel appointments online. You will need to contact the surgery to register for this service.
Please note that at the moment, only GP and Nurse Practitioner appointments are available to book on line. Our Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants appointments are not available via this system due to the many different types and time slots needed for their consultations.
It is important that you contact the surgery or call 999 if you have any of the following conditions: Chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of conciousness or symptoms of a stroke. Please do not use the on-line facility to book an appointment, seek medical advice immediately if you have any of the above symptoms.
You can cancel appointments with the Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistmant via the on line service
We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor.
Home Visits are available for those patients who are too ill or infirm to attend the surgery. Please telephone before 10.30am. You will be asked for details of your problem to assist the prioritisation of the visiting lists.
Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen.
Please note that you are now able to cancel appointments when the surgery is closed by leaving details on our voicemail facility - Ring the main telephone line and state your name, date of birth and the date and time of your appointment and who the appointment is booked with.
